Our staff work collaboratively across homes to create environments where people feel respected, concerns are addressed early, and daily operations remain dependable.<h1 style="margin-bottom: 6pt; margin-top: 20pt;">Position Summary</h1>The Community Safety Specialist is a mobile residential support professional who works across assigned Anchor homes. The role conducts routine and unannounced safety, wellness, quality, and compliance checks; responds to incidents and resident concerns; and helps resident managers maintain safe, calm, and stable homes.This position calls for sound judgment, a steady presence, strong observation and communication skills, and the ability to de-escalate tense situations. The Community Safety Specialist documents what they observe, addresses appropriate issues within company guidelines, and promptly involves management, clinical resources, emergency services, or other qualified professionals when a situation exceeds the role's scope.<h1 style="margin-bottom: 6pt; margin-top: 20pt;">Key Responsibilities</h1><ul><li>Travel among assigned Anchor homes to complete scheduled and unannounced safety, wellness, quality, and policy-compliance checks.</li><li>Observe each home's overall condition and climate, including resident well-being, common areas, access and egress, housekeeping, basic safety practices, and other operational concerns.</li><li>Respond promptly and calmly to resident concerns, house disruptions, interpersonal conflicts, and other incidents requiring an in-person assessment.</li><li>Use respectful, trauma-informed communication and practical de-escalation techniques to help reduce tension and support a safe resolution.</li><li>Identify environmental hazards, resident safety concerns, policy deviations, and emerging patterns that may require follow-up.</li><li>Take appropriate action within training, assigned authority, company policy, and the role's scope; escalate concerns without delay when additional support is needed.</li><li>Contact 911, emergency medical services, management, clinical resources, or other appropriate responders when circumstances require specialized or urgent intervention.</li><li>Prepare clear, objective, and timely documentation of checks, observations, incidents, actions taken, notifications, and follow-up while protecting resident privacy.</li><li>Support resident managers with practical guidance, follow-through, and communication regarding home standards and safety-related concerns.</li><li>Coordinate with operations leadership and other team members so open items are assigned, tracked, and resolved.</li><li>Participate in training, team meetings, and improvement efforts related to residential safety, incident response, and quality standards.</li></ul><h1 style="margin-bottom: 6pt; margin-top: 20pt;">Qualifications</h1><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in human services, behavioral health, healthcare, residential services, or a related field is a plus.</li><li>Experience in residential services, supportive housing, behavioral health, healthcare, hospitality, community services, or a similarly people-centered environment.</li><li>Ability to remain calm, respectful, and solution-oriented during emotionally charged or uncertain situations.</li><li>Strong observation, interpersonal, de-escalation, problem-solving, and written communication skills.</li><li>Good judgment, clear role boundaries, and consistent use of escalation protocols.</li><li>Comfort using a smartphone and basic digital tools for communication, checklists, scheduling, and incident documentation.</li><li>Ability to work independently while staying closely connected with the operations team.</li><li>Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to meet company driving requirements.</li></ul><h1 style="margin-bottom: 6pt; margin-top: 20pt;">Preferred Experience</h1><ul><li>Current or prior Medication Technician (Med Tech) training, certification, or relevant medication-support experience.</li><li>Experience in supportive housing, recovery-oriented housing, residential care, mental health services, substance-use services, or another community-based care setting.</li><li>Training in crisis prevention, verbal de-escalation, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, CPR, or First Aid.</li><li>Experience conducting residential quality checks, documenting incidents, or supporting multiple locations.</li></ul>Medication-related responsibilities, if assigned, may be performed only when the employee is appropriately trained and authorized, and only within applicable law, the employee's permitted scope, and Anchor Co-Living policy. Preferred Med Tech experience does not expand the authority of this role.<h1 style="margin-bottom: 6pt; margin-top: 20pt;">Schedule / Travel Requirements</h1><ul><li>This is a mobile position requiring regular travel among assigned Anchor Co-Living homes within the service area.</li><li>The schedule may include days, evenings, overnight hours, weekends, holidays, or rotating on-call coverage based on operational needs.</li><li>The employee must be able to respond within expected timeframes, adjust priorities when urgent concerns arise, and maintain reliable communication while working independently.</li></ul><h1 style="margin-bottom: 6pt; margin-top: 20pt;">Physical Requirements</h1><ul><li>Ability to drive between locations and enter, walk through, and inspect residential properties, including navigating stairs and uneven surfaces.</li><li>Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and remain active for portions of the workday.</li><li>Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.</li><li>Ability to use a phone or computer to communicate and complete accurate documentation.</li></ul><h1 style="margin-bottom: 6pt; margin-top: 20pt;">What Success Looks Like</h1><ul><li>Anchor homes are checked consistently and concerns are identified early.</li><li>Residents and resident managers experience the specialist as calm, respectful, fair, and dependable.</li><li>Incidents are addressed promptly, de-escalated when possible, and escalated appropriately when additional expertise or emergency response is needed.</li><li>Documentation is objective, complete, timely, and useful for follow-up and decision-making.</li><li>Operational leaders have a clear, accurate picture of conditions across assigned homes.</li><li>Safety and quality standards become more consistent across the residential community over time.</li></ul>Anchor Co-Living is committed to building a respectful workplace and considers qualified applicants without regard to legally protected characteristics.
